Topics and Specialties
I specialize in working with young adults and middle age adults who experience anxiety, pervasive worrying, angst about the future, or who feel stuck and want to change. Often, the below topics may play a part in the existence of the anxiety.
Transitions
“Transitions” refers to times within your life where momentous events occur that impact your life. Transitions can be thought of as small or large, positive or negative, or anything in between that has left a change in the life you knew before. Often, preparing for a transition can lead to times of heightened anxiety, stress, or worry. Reaching out during these times can help you be best prepared for the changes that lie ahead. Together we can explore, develop understanding and find tools to manage your well-being through a transition.
Crisis
Crisis refers to periods where you are experiencing a heightened state of anxiety and stress, where you can feel a sense of urgency and paralysis at the same time. Whether the crisis you are in has passed, recently happened, or is on-going can often require additional support to help you navigate through. My priority is to provide you a safe space to express your crisis and then proceed forward in setting up an environment where you can maintain your sense of safety.
Stress / Anxiety
Stress and anxiety are often related experiences that produce an intense state of fear. At times when stress seems unmanageable and anxiety takes over, reaching out for support is critical. Together we can explore the depths of your stress and find concrete, manageable tools to help you maintain a balance in your life.
Depression
Depression often presents itself in a sneaky, slow way and before you know it, has taken over your life. With depression as your backdrop, people often experience a loss of enjoyment in activities they used to love and experience most days in an emotionally painful and agonizing way. Whether depression is new, reoccurring, or post-partum onset, together we can explore your needs so you can find lasting relief from your symptoms.
Trauma
Trauma results from a powerful experience that can harm you emotionally. Often physical trauma is present, which can also serve as painful reminders of what you have been through. If you have experienced a trauma and/or on-going trauma, learning how to process your emotional scars can be the way to heal.
