Foundations and Approaches

How will I help get you where you want to go?

There is no one “right” way to do therapy. Rather, I draw from a few different modalities, schools of thought, and therapeutic techniques to fit your unique needs and strengths. My approach to therapy includes:

  • Structural Family Therapy, which focuses on the roles and interactions between family members.
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy, which builds on looking at attachments and the innate role of emotions.
  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which involves exploring the complexities between thoughts and behaviors.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy, which finds the tools you need to get to where you want to be in a timely manner (as opposed to years of therapy…)
  • Supportive Therapy, where the therapist is engaged in a dynamic, encouraging role to help strengthen healthy responses and interpersonal relationship development.
